Cowboy Bebop's 25th Anniversary Spike Spiegel Watch Gets Rare 26-Piece Release

Anime fans have the opportunity to secure major bragging rights by owning an extremely limited-edition Cowboy Bebop 25th anniversary timepiece from Kentex, maker of Japan's Self-Defense Forces watches.

Cowboy Bebop celebrates its 25th anniversary this year with collaborative events and product launches lined up. Watchmaker Kentex has even upped the ante with the release of a (very) limited-edition run of 26 premium watches, launched as an homage to each of the anime's 26 episodes. Known as a maker of Japan's Self-Defense Forces watches, Kentex has custom-crafted Cowboy Bebop timepieces with high-spec features like anti-magnetic construction and mechanical chronographs. Preorders are now available at the Kentex shop until all 26 watches are taken, making this edition a highly coveted item drop.

Cowboy Bebop References Are Jam-Packed Into a Premium Watch

The back casing of the watch also features multiple references to Cowboy Bebop; the plate is engraved with a corresponding title, end phrase and key items unique to each episode. The watch comes with a black leather strap with white-red stitch accents, while the casing is crafted with stainless steel and iron alloys capped with sapphire crystal glass. Each watch is packaged in a black acrylic box with an accompanying guarantee card. Priced at 297,000 yen (about US$1962) plus tax, takers can secure preorder reservations of their top three preferred variants, with confirmed purchases shipped out by June.
