Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- Makes No. 1 Debut
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training-, a new theatrical release from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba anime franchise, opened in 375 theaters across Japan on February 2, 2024. The 103-minute film, which includes the Swordsmith Village Arc's 11th episode and the first episode of the upcoming Hashira Training Arc, made its #1 debut in the weekend box office ranking after earning 647 million yen (4.35 million USD) on 443,700 admissions in its first three-day weekend of February 2-4, according to Kogyo Tsushinsha. The opening weekend gross was about 55.8 percent of that of the previous compilation film, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Swordsmith Village-, which released in February 2023 and earned 1.159 billion yen (7.8 million USD) in its first three day weekend.
Aniplex of America, Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Entertainment will release Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training- in North American theaters, including IMAX and premium large formats (PLFs), starting February 23, with other global theatrical dates as well.
