Massive Reddit Chart Ranks the Top 300 Most Popular Anime on Crunchyroll

A massive Reddit chart has compiled Crunchyroll review data to rank every anime on the streaming site to date, revealing some surprising insights within the top 300.

Created by Reddit user arcii, the chart compiles user review data (over 13.5 million individual reviews) from all 1,832 anime series currently streaming on Crunchyroll in the U.S. Arcii then ranked the series by number of reviews, average rating and popularity (based on the number of reviews) of each series in comparison to that of the top series, One Piece. The top 300 anime have been spotlighted in a post that has sparked much user discourse, especially among the series that make up the top ten.

  1. One Piece (419501 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  2. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba (374748 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  3. Jujutsu Kaisen (350603 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  4. Chainsaw Man (304886 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  5. Spy x Family (268523 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  6. Attack on Titan (240685 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  7. Solo Leveling (179062 reviews, 4.9 average rating)
  8. My Hero Academia (168361 reviews, 4.7 average rating)
  9. Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation (144562 reviews, 4.8 average rating)
  10. Naruto Shippuden (140629 reviews, 4.7 average rating)

Although all the anime within the top 10 are essentially household names within the medium (and likely for some non-anime fans as well), several Reddit users expressed shock at seeing newer anime, especially Solo Leveling, which is barely three months old, beat out the likes of legendary anime like Hunter x Hunter (ranked 24), Dragon Ball Z (ranked 96) and FullMetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (ranked 59). In fact, most of the series in the top 50 of the 300 are relatively new, which can likely be credited to the ongoing growth of online communities and the higher likelihood of reviewing series that are currently running; Attack on Titan and Naruto: Shippuden are the only two fully completed anime to make the top 10.

Several Reddit users also pointed out surprising titles that made it into the top 300, including Rent-a-Girlfriend (ranked 31), Bocchi the Rock! (ranked 65) and High School DxD (ranked 78), all of which came in above the iconic Cowboy Bebop (ranked 121). More Than a Married Couple, But Not Lovers, a fan favorite that premiered in 2022 and was never reviewed for a second season, is ranked 45. Among some of the new popular ongoing series, Mashle: Magic and Muscles (ranked 18) and The Apothecary Diaries (ranked 19) both beat out Frieren: Beyond Journey's End (ranked 21).

Nonetheless, it's important to note that when analyzing these rankings, viewership is not directly correlated to reviews and that popular anime, including Sailor Moon, Bleach, Death Note and One-Punch Man, among several others, are not available on Crunchyroll in the U.S. and are therefore not present on the list.
