New My Hero Academia Season 7 Trailer Teases Final War Arc Fallout
Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia has been one of the decade’s most popular shonen series, and fans have never been more excited about the upcoming seventh season after the new release of its main trailer.
For six seasons and 138 episodes, My Hero Academia has chronicled Izuku "Deku" Midoriya’s courageous evolution from Quirkless superhero fan into one of Japan’s strongest crime fighters. The anime has only grown more popular since its 2016 debut, with the manga now entering its endgame and beginning preparation for its climactic conclusion. My Hero Academia’s seventh season is set to take the ongoing battle between Deku and Shigaraki to unprecedented heights, and the anime’s newest trailer teases the chaos to come as these episodes bring the manga’s "Final War" arc to life.
My Hero Academia Season 7's Release Date and Episode Count
The new trailer, which was shared via the anime's official X (formerly Twitter) account, sets the suspenseful tone for the upcoming game-changing season. My Hero Academia Season 7 begins on May 4, 2024, but will first be preceded by four "Memories" recap specials that will help catch new viewers up with the first six seasons’ events. These specials will begin on April 6, 2024, airing weekly until the season's brand-new episodes begin in May.
My Hero Academia Season 7 will once again run for 25 episodes, which will cover some of the manga’s most exciting story arcs. Season 7 is set to adapt the events of the manga’s "Star and Stripe" and "U.A. Traitor" arcs, as well as the beginning of the series' "Final War" arc. Footage from the new trailer focuses primarily on the latter as the heroes’ battle against Shigaraki and All For One reaches its dangerous apex.
Fans will have double the dose of My Hero Academia to look forward to in 2024, as the series' fourth feature film, My Hero Academia: You're Next, will be released in Japan on Aug. 2, 2024. The movie -- which features heavier involvement from series creator Kohei Horikoshi -- is set between My Hero Academia's sixth and seventh seasons and focuses on a misguided All Might doppelganger. In the meantime, the first six seasons of My Hero Academia are available to stream on Crunchyroll, Hulu and Prime Video.
