Tickets for Spy x Family Code: White are now officially on sale for viewers in North America.
As detailed on Crunchyroll, Spy x Family's first animated film is rapidly approaching its international debut. From April 17-25, Spy x Family Code: White will arrive in theaters in several major territories, including Belgium, France, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Austria and Italy, among others. In the United States and Canada, Code: White will premiere on April 19. As an added bonus, both the original Japanese version (w/ English subtitles) and the English dub version starring Megan Shipman (Anya), Natalie Van Sistine (Yor) and Alex Organ (Loid) will be available on the big screen.
The Spy x Family franchise began with Tatsuya Endo's titular manga series, which launched on the Shonen Jump+ app in March 2019. The story follows an elite spy named Agent Twilight (aka Loid Forger) who is used to a solitary life working on behalf of the defense of his home nation, Westalis. In a scheme to prevent the outbreak of civil war, Twilight devises a plan to infiltrate an elite institution called Eden Academy to gain access to an elusive politician. To help complete his mission, he adopts a young orphan girl named Anya and enrolls her at Eden. As part of his cover, he also takes a wife named Yor, who secretly moonlights as an assassin.
The Plot of Spy x Family Code: White
Code: White was produced by CloverWorks and Wit Studios, the same production team that created Spy x Family's popular series adaptation. Written as a standalone story, Code: White follows the Forger family as they set out to the countryside for their first family vacation. However, Twilight's true goal is to acquire a special dessert recipe that will earn Anya the grand prize at her school's annual cooking competition. When they arrive, Anya uncovers a hidden box filled with chocolate. This innocuous act makes her a target of a mysterious yet dangerous entity whose goals pose a grave threat to world peace. The film debuted in Japan on Dec. 22, 2023.
The international debut of Code: White is not the only thing Spy x Family fans have to look forward to. Recently, Spy x Family creator Tatsuya Endo revealed that he has several surprises in store for the Spy x Family's fifth anniversary. On April 1, a brand-new Spy x Family website will go live, along with a special commemorative video, illustration and merchandise collection. Ahead of the site's launch, Endo released an emotional thank-you message to his fan base via social media. "I started the series casually, thinking that as long as I could enjoy drawing it, that would be enough. I never dreamed that so many people would also come to enjoy it," Endo wrote.
